The CCCA moved uptown, going downtown to some of San Jose’s finest dining, at Scott’s Seafood, for the annual Holiday luncheon party. It was a bright and clear Thursday, December 7, 2006. Toys were in grand abundance, as the Marines joined the group for lunch and their annual Toys for Tots collection. In addition to the very generous contributions of the membership, the association was able to going shopping, providing toys and books and stuffed animals for the Corp. to get to Santa in time for the kids.
Due to fund raising successes, the golf tournament in particular, the CCCA contributed more than $1,000 to the cause.
Members were invited to bring their family members to this party, and several did.
Bingo was the hit of the day, with cash prizes totaling $1,000 dispersed to excited shouts of “BINGO!”
Lenny Towle, 2006 CCCA President, brought his wife, Debbie, and sons Caden and Max, to the party. The boys were instrumental in the spinning of the tumbler, and delivering many of the prizes.
“Isn’t it weird that this is work?!” Lisa Schwichtenberg queried rhetorically.
Congratulations to all who have supported this organization; to all the Bingo winners; and to 50/50 raffle winner, April Anderson, of Crawford & Company, who pulled down a cool $218 with the winning ticket.
Jingle Bells was the big hit song of the day, and a grand holiday feeling was taken home by all.
Does it pay to be involved in an association like CCCA? In so many ways, yes.
