Full Agenda at November CCCA
meeting review by Bryan Harrison,
Association News Network, Inc.

The November 16, 2007 luncheon meeting of the Central Coast Claims Association carried a very full agenda. President Denise Garcia, of Marriott Execustay, began by welcoming the crowd. Following self-introductions around the room, she then presented a check on behalf of the CCCA in the amount of $4,000 to Angel Flight West, beneficiaries of the CCCA Bowling Tournament fund-raising proceeds.

CCCA member, Bob Tucknott, of Tucknott Electric Company, a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight West, accepted the generous contribution, explaining that, although all pilots for Angel Flight volunteer their time, planes, and expenses, the organization does employ staff to coordinate and dispatch flights. Bob expressed Angel Flight West's deep appreciation for the CCCA's commitment to their work.

Denise then introduced November guest speaker, Sam Phillips, of the San Jose law offices of Borton, Petrini & Conron. Mr. Phillips, a longtime member and supporter of the CCCA, gave a thorough and interesting presentation on recent litigation changes in Construction Defect cases.

Following Sam's presentation, including answering several questions, CCCA Board Member and Speakers' Committee Co-Chair, Ray Depa, of Crawford & Company, presented the proposed slate of 2008 officers and board members, and brought nominations to the floor prior to conducting the annual election. The proposed board was elected without contention.

or call: 408-379-9852. Parking at Scott's will still be validated, but only for the first two hours. The party will feature the traditional Marines' Toys for Tots drive.
