The tag-team injected a bit of humor into their presentation, as well. Assumption of the Risk, anyone? |

CCCA 2009 President Shelly Lefore, of Casualty Adjuster’s Guide, welcomed the crowd to the new CCCA meeting venue, The Bold Knight. She also took a poll on whether to have the holiday luncheon party there or back at Scott’s. Despite enthusiasm for the new regular meeting venue, a majority voted to continue holding the annual holiday event at Scott’s Seafood Restaurant. That will be Thursday, December 3, 2009. |

CCCA Successfully Doubles-Up October Events A few weeks prior to the October 15, 2009 CCCA luncheon meeting there was some brief email discussion about possibly aborting the gathering in consideration of the bowling tournament just one week prior. Overwhelmingly, consensus was that the show must go on! Sure enough, a large crowd turned out at the new CCCA meeting home, The Bold Knight, on the appointed day. The guest speaker tag-team of Low, Ball & Lynch attorneys Ramsey F. Kawar and Pamela Helman gave a thorough presentation on various recent case law decisions affecting the claims industry. Their presentation offered a bit of a glimpse at the firm’s annual Legal Seminar being held the afternoon of November 12, 2009 in Sacramento. That event, running from 1:00 p.m. until around 4:00, follows closely after the monthly Sacramento Claims Association luncheon meeting. The potential to make both is there, though one would no doubt be late arriving to the seminar. Striving to achieving that sort of potential is very similar to what I experienced in attempting to cover both the October 8th Sacramento Claims luncheon before scrambling all the way to Morgan Hill in time to catch a glimpse (and some photos) of the action at the CCCA Bowling Tournament. Unfortunately in that case, despite grand efforts, the best I could manage was to get there in time for the awards presentation and door prize drawings. Thankfully, Rene Rodriguez, of Crase Construction, took some shots while bowling, several of which are presented here. Thank you Rene! I did get a few good shots for my part, but of course the fun is with the actual action. Anyway, the whole collection may be found on the Bowling Tournament page. The good news is we can begin planning for next year’s tournament right now! Bowling Tournament perennial Chair Denise Garcia announced at the October 15th luncheon that the next tournament date is already set. Mark your calendars now for Thursday, October 7, 2010! I know I’ll be sure to be there in time! Denise also plans to have final numbers together on the fund-raising results from this year’s tourney in time for the November 19th luncheon. So, we can all look forward to the group’s presentation to Angel Flight West representation, and volunteer pilot, Bob Tucknott. She is actually still accepting donations at this time. So, if you’d like to help bolster the results, do get in touch with her: 408-483-7370, or denise.garcia@marriott.com. |
