Van de Poel, Levy & Allen attorneys’ presentation includes certification
The February 17, 2011 Central Coast Claims Association luncheon featured a seminar on sexual harassment avoidance training. Presented by Jeff Allen, a partner in the law firm of Van de Poel, Levy & Allen, LLP, and his associate Annmarie Liermann, the two-hour session covered a good deal of ground on this sensitive issue. All attendees received the certification, which must be renewed every two years for any supervisor with responsibility to hire, fire, discipline, and/or direct the work of another employee. For new supervisors, the law requires training within six months of hire.
Jeff Allen is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley, with distinction, 1977, and received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco in 1981. A highly sought-after public speaker, Jeff frequently lectures to claims and risk management associations and private corporations on topics such as litigation strategies and management, Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Training, qualifying as Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB).
Jeff was joined for this session by new associate to the firm, Annmarie Liermann. Ms. Liermann added a dynamic and knowledgeable element to the mix. The duo effectively tag-teamed their presentation, keeping it lively and interesting, as well as informative.
Rough weather and a limited number of available seats for this one were thought to contribute to a low turn-out. Unfortunate, too, as it was a quality presentation that earned certification. |
