Can you believe this year is almost over? First of all I would like to thank everyone for their help in making 2007 a fun and successful year. It takes a team of people to put together every lunch and event. I never seem to have a shortage of volunteers, thank you for that!
Our 50th golf tournament was a blast! More importantly it enabled us to purchase toys for our annual Toys for Tots drive at the Christmas party. It also helps to subsidize the cost of having our Holiday lunch at Scotts Seafood in downtown San Jose. I think Deanie Pearson did a great job putting the golf tournament together but will be happy to hand it over to Ryon Hayward and Matt Welch. Thank you both for volunteering for next year!
Bowling, bowling, bowling….. what a treat for me to have the opportunity to use a sport I love to help raise money for a charity that I love. I am truly blessed that everyone involved in the CCCA allowed me to use this venue to support the Angel Flight West. We were able to raise $ 4000.00 and presented the check to Bob Tucknott at our last luncheon. We will definitely be having this event again in 2008!
The CCNC was a great success this year! I was impressed by the number of adjusters who were participating in the educational classes. It appeared to be valuable material and we hope to see some of those speakers at our lunches in the future. Thank you to Bryan Harrison and Ray Depa for being the voices of the Central Coast Claims Association.
Elections for 2008 were held at the November luncheon. I am proud to be returning as your President for another year. Those joining me will be Shelly Lafore as your Vice President, Cindy Hart as your Secretary, and Genavieve Capone as your Treasurer. We all look forward to another successful year and future growth for the CCCA. For ideas on new events, new lunch venue (don’t forget the $100), speakers, or anything that would benefit the organization, please email me at denise.garcia@marriott.com. We need your thoughts and ideas to make the organization grow!
I can not emphasize enough what a great team I had to work with this year. A special thank you to those who supported not only the CCCA, but supported me at every turn. This year I am thankful for; Ann Marie Yadegar of The Hartford, Cindy Hart of JM Construction, Genavieve Capone of CIG, John Sager of Koning and Associates, Ray Depa of Crawford and Co, Lisa Winn of Vanderbuilt Construction, Deanie Pearson of Apollo ES, Shelly Lafore of Ca Adjusters Guide, Bryan Harrison of Association News Network, Lenny Towle of FRSt team by Custom Commercial, Ricelli Mordecai of FRSteam by Custom Commercial. Last but definitely not least…I have to thank John Stackhouse of EFI Global for taking all my last minute calls and finding a way to come through for us! Without all of you, the events, the lunches, the relationships, none of these would come together!
I hope to see everyone at the Holiday Luncheon on December 6th at 11:30. Please remember that Scotts Seafood only validates parking for two hours so be prepared. The US Marines will be joining us to gather toys so please bring an unwrapped toy or book to donate to the children. All age groups are needed, especially the teenagers! We will be playing bingo again this year, so bring your loudest Bingo voice! Don’t forget to RSVP to Cindy Hart at cindyh@jm-const.com by December 3rd.
