Moving Forward in Remembrance

April 2008 message from
CCCA President, Denise Garcia

A huge thanks to our March guest speaker, John Hagerty, of CIG. John gave a thorough presentation on Property Loss Causation Doctrines to what he referred to as “a room full of pro’s with lots of opinions”. He certainly appeared to be a strong draw for us. Seats were full even into the overflow part of the room. Always great to see so many adjusters turning out.

Planning for the 51st annual CCCA Golf Tournament is quickly coming together. If you’ve yet to get your reservations in I recommend you fill out the form now and get it in. Ryon Hayward, of ServiceMaster, and Matt Welch, of JM Construction are heading up efforts to make this a grand and memorable event. June 6th will be here before we know it.

Speaking of planning, the 15th annual Claims Conference of Northern California is happening earlier than usual this year, July 24-25th at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Sacramento. The planning committee has just announced the educational program, and it looks like a great one. Check it out at: www.ClaimsConference.org.

We’re saddened to learn of the passing of yet two more of our industry faithful: CCCA Past President, Don Burkley; and CCNC Co-Founder, and longtime CAIIA Executive Director, Gene Riggs, have both passed on. Please read more. Our heartfelt condolences to both their families, and celebrate the spirit of both these fine men.

We’re looking forward to hearing from one of our own, Mr. Bill Weber, addressing the April 17th CCCA luncheon gathering. Bill very recently joined Anderson Group Int’l. He plans to speak to changes in life, and embracing the entrepreneurial spirit. A great topic for all.
We’re having a special CCCA sponsored raffle at the April meeting. One of our adjuster attendees will walk away the winner of a $100 cash raffle prize. This is an association raffle, not vendor sponsored.

Please get your RSVP in with your lunch selection to our Secretary, Cindy Hart, at: cindyh@jm-const.com. 2008 memberships are due now, as well.

Thanks always to all of you who continue to help make this a great organization! I’m truly proud to be a part of the CCCA and remain ever so grateful to all those who make it happen.
Sincerely,

Denise Garcia
