New Twists for the New Year Inaugural message from 2009 CCCA President, Shelly Lefore Happy New Year Everyone! I hope that you all enjoyed your holidays and had the opportunity to create many lasting memories with family and friends. As the incoming President of our organization I would first like to thank Denise Garcia for all of her time and commitment over the past two years to making the association even stronger. Denise was relentless at raising funds to continue our support of the selected charities and, even in these hard economic times, she was able to rally the association to increase our donations! Thank you Denise and we look forward to your continued support on the Board of Directors. With that said, we also have a great group of returning and new members to our 2009 Board. If you get a chance, please be sure to stop and thank them for all the extra work that they will be doing over the coming year to continue the success of the organization. We are also always looking for new ideas and fresh faces, so please remember that the association as a whole is only as good as our volunteers and members. We will be implementing a few new ideas this year. One of these will be allowing companies to sign up to “sponsor” each meeting. As a meeting sponsor your company would be able to provide “goodie baskets/centerpieces” for each table and would also be given approximately 5-7 minutes at the beginning of the meeting to tell all of the members what you specialize in or what makes you unique. If you are interested in signing up for a particular month, please see Kim MacFarlane who is heading up our new Sponsorship Committee. Another new twist that we will be trying out is to select a different member each month to write a brief article summarizing the meeting and upcoming events. This has previously been know as the Presidents message, but I figure who would want to hear from me every month – so let’s try to spice it up a bit! Please contact me if someone from your company would be interested in taking on this “fun” task for one of the upcoming months. I look forward to working with each of you over the coming year and hope that 2008 will be prosperous and healthy for us all!
