Rolling-On to the 10th Annual CCCA Bowling Classic
September Message Well, I thought I was going to get away without writing a column this month, but Mr. Harrison asked me to send out a message. Mind you that I am writing this on a Friday with two days to go until our Panama cruise and I am sitting amongst oodles and oodles of clothes, suitcases and “last minute things to do”. So, here goes! Last time we chatted, we were gearing up for our end of summer BBQ at Anderson Group International. The presentation was informative, the demonstration was “hands on” and the food and weather were exceptional. A lot of people enjoyed the opportunity to use the dry ice blasting “gun”, especially Denise Garcia who had a somewhat devilish gleam in her eye while using it….scary!! We have a few changes going on with our board. Our beloved Genevieve Capone has relocated to Southern California to be closer to her daughter, so Denise Garcia has graciously stepped in as Treasurer until the end of the year. Additionally, Stephanie Quintal, our Secretary, has taken a job outside our industry so her position is vacant. Many thanks go out to Jackie Mezuel, from Alliance Environmenatl, who has volunteered to step up and take over those duties in the interim. Teams are forming for the 10th anual CCCA bowling tournament that will be held at Morgan Hill Bowl on Thursday, October 6th. This is always a really fun and competitive event. And, the proceeds go to the wonderful Angel Flight West organization, which coordinates missions from volunteer pilots, who use their private planes and fuel to help bring families together during times of extreme illness that couldn’t otherwise afford to be together. While the pilots volunteer their efforts and commitment to the cause, funds are always needed to help those who gather and send them on their missions. CCCA is proud to play our part in assisting that endeavor. Please contact Denise Garcia for further information. Join CCCA next month on Thursday October 20th where we will be combining lunch with an Earthquake Certification class. We welcome the ever-popular Dan Dyce as our presenter, as we return to the Bold Knight in San Jose for this event. Bon Voyage everyone and I will see you on the 20th!! |
